Q: How long should my video submission be?
A: Five minutes. Cut to you and your jokes. If your video is over five minutes, please understand that we will only watch up to five minutes.

Q: Can I submit more than one video?
A: No.

Q: What if I don’t have a good video of me doing five minutes of stand-up?
A: Head to an open mic, or perform at a show, and try to have someone record you! Remember, cell phone video is totally fine — we just need to hear you! Submit your video by December 31, 2024!

Q: How should I record my submission video?
A: You can record yourself on your phone! The video quality is less important than the sound quality — we just need to hear you!

Q: Can I email my submission to Conejo Valley Comedy Fest?
A: No. Please use the submission form.

Q: Does my material need to be clean?
A: No, it doesn’t! However, we are also booking for our family friendly showcases and those would need to be clean/family friendly sets. So, it’s up to you depending on which segment of the festival you’d like to submit for!

Q: When will I know if I’m accepted?
A: We’ll notify everyone who submitted in January 2025, regardless of acceptance status.

Q: If I’m not accepted, is my submission fee refunded?
A: No, sorry—that’s how festivals operate. Think of the fee as helping cover the cost for our screeners to watch and review your video.

Q: When will I perform?
A: Every accepted comic will be slotted into a showcase/session for the festival, depending on your comedic area (e.g. if you’re an improv troupe, you’ll perform during the improv showcase, etc.)

Q: When will the complete schedule be available to the public?
A: Hang tight—we’ve just opened submissions! The plan is to release the lineup and schedule sometime in January 2025.

Q: Where do I submit again?
A: Here, on the submit page!
